Strategic Match Design is excited to partner with Reveille Peak Ranch to host a new team match benefiting the D.C. Project. The match will be held at the scenic Reveille Peak Ranch, Burnet, TX, on June 7th-9th. The event will consist of eight (8) fun filled, challenging stages in a mix of bays and natural terrain. Two days of competition will be preceded by a banquet on Friday night, June 7th. Sponsors, shooters and members of the community will mingle, eat, and be merry! There will be silent auction items as well as live auction items. This is a fundraiser!
Teams will compete for CASH PAYOUT for the top three places of 4 divisions. Lewis class system will be used to break up the final order of finish into 4 equal sections, creating divisions. (For example, if there are 100 shooters, 1st, 2nd, 3rd comprise the 1D winners; 25th, 26th, 27th comprise the 2D winners, 50th, 51st, and 52nd comprise the 3D winners, and 75th, 76th, and 77th comprise the 4D winners.) This is a way for top finishers to be rewarded for their effort and give the rest of the field a CHANCE to hit it big time!
In the spirit of promoting WOMEN and JUNIORS, key demographics in our efforts to preserve the 2nd Amendment, the two person teams will require one member to be a junior or a woman. There is also an ‘exhibition’ team option, where shooters can shoot with whomever they want with whatever gear they want, but they will not be considered for the prize money.
This is an excellent opportunity for sponsors to support the shooting sports, and more importantly, the D.C. Project’s effort to preserve our 2nd amendment! This event is unique and will let Sponsors have a chance to visit with shooters and community on Friday night and also capture content for social media during the competition. Team events come with a built-in drama in the fast paced 3-gun format!
ABOUT THE D.C. PROJECT
The D.C. Project is 50 women, one from every state, meeting their legislators in Washington, D.C. as firearm owners and 2nd Amendment supporters. The 2nd Amendment should not be a partisan issue and our goal is to take every member of congress to the range and educate them on firearms safety, all the while giving them the opportunity to get to know us as good, upstanding, responsible citizens. Education is the key!
The DCP is a diverse group of women that span the multitude of reasons of why firearm ownership is important. We have hunters, professional shooters, concealed carry instructors, military/LEO. We have women that have been denied the opportunity to defend themselves in gun free zones and lived through horrific attacks including rape and the murder of a loved one; one that successfully defended herself with a firearm; a naturalized immigrant that has seen her home country of Venezuela lose their gun rights. We are mothers, daughters, sisters; young and old; black, brown, white, and in between; Democrats, Republicans and Independents; but most importantly, we are all Americans!
The DCP started in 2016 and travels to D.C. annually. During the day, we break up into small groups to make appointments with legislators, speaking to members and/or staff. On the last day, we have a rally on the Capitol lawn. Finally, we reserve a range and offer hands on experience with firearms and scenario training for legislators and staff to wrap up the project!
The Project incurs expenses associated with the range, evening meetings/dinners, and admin support, such as printing, nametags, and audio system rental for the rally. The women that participate have been volunteering their time and their money for the past three years. The money raised will go directly to the project, covering admin costs first and then meetings/dinners second, and hotel and other travel related expenses for each of the women. No one is getting a salary or being compensated for their time.
